Cychwynodd yr arddangosfa celf cyfoes ar y18fed Hydref hefo agoriad cynhyrfus a cynulleidfa fawr. Mae’r llun yn gysylltiad hefo’r arddangosfa Treflun ac hefo fy nghyfnod fel myfyriwr yn coleg celf Lerpwl.

‘Dwi wedi fy adfywio hefo fy nhestyn arferol o dirluniau gwledig. Mae’r tywydd braf wedi helpu hefo paentio ty allan. ‘Dwi yn feindio paent acrylic yn dda i’w ddefnyddio yn y fan a‘r lle. Drwy ddefnyddio palette bach hefo ychydig o liwiau, cymysgu’r lliwiau ar y cynfas a gweithio i fewn i baent gwlyb dwi’n gallu dal elfennau’r gwrthrych yn gyflum. Mae’r lluniau bach acrylic yn ddechreuad wedyn i gyfansoddiadau mwy mewn olew yn y stiwdio.

The Townscapes exhibition at Galeri Caernarfon was very well received. My connection with Galeri has continued as my painting ‘The Vines’ has been chosen for the Galeri Open competition exhibition. The mixed contemporary exhibition opened on the 18th October and was very successful with a great crowd there. The painting is a link to the Townscape exhibition and to my student days at Liverpool art college.

I’ve returned refreshed to my more usual rural subject matter. The recent good weather has helped with outdoor painting. I’ve increasingly found acrylics useful for painting on the spot. Using a small restricted palette, mixing the colours on the spot and working wet in wet have been great for capturing scenes quickly and efficiently. The small acrylics are then used as starting points for larger compositions in oils in the studio.
