The exhibition at Oriel Ynys Mon went really well! It was the culmination of four years' work off and on with one hundred paintings and drawings in all. I've enjoyed working on series of works and extending the range of subject matter. For me the large seascapes of Cable Bay and Llanddwyn have really pushed my work to new levels and opened up some new avenues to explore in the future. The mountains were also popular, especially the hyper-real Oleu Wen and the red Wyddfa/ Snowdon, showing that colour can convey feeling without having to be completely naturalistic.

Since then I have been working outdoors making large drawings on rolls of paper which flap in the wind but allow me to capture a panorama, and rediscovering the joy of watercolour as a quick and portable medium.

We're off to France for a holiday (maybe with a few watercolours) before re-starting in September. I'll be working then on townscapes for my exhibition at Galeri, Caernarfon next June, and lots of landscape ideas which I want to get to fruition. I'll also be doing two courses at my studio and Creative Landscape at Caernarfon (see Tutoring and Courses for details).
